Another genre that is annoying, is heavy metal. Now before all ya'll AC/DC fans have my throat, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I love music, but when a song that is mostly screaming and thrashing comes on the radio, then I'm honestly going to change it! One of my favorite genres is rap, because lyricists (people who write their own lyrics) Eminem, The DOC, 50 Cent, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, etc) are clever with their lyrics, and put blood, sweat, tears into their work. Metaphors, vocab, puns and clever wording, can be found. This is why it's one my favorites, and have a of of respect for these people, because they are writers and it's their craft. But if someone's only come up with 5 lines max, and the rest is screaming and violent use of instruments, it isn't going to appeal to me! I like a song that makes me wanna nod my head, or go "oooh!" when I hear how the person strategically placed certain lyrics. When the lyrics are creative, and express how they feel, and are relatable, that's real music to me (that and anything with a good beat).

Take some of my favourite songs for example. Songs like "This Is Gospel" by Panic! At The Disco, or bands like Paramore, to rappers like Eminem and Nicki Minaj. those songs make you think, the lyrics are clever, and don't always have to do with anything THAT explicit. Take "All Things Go" by Nicki Minaj. She raps "life is a movie, and there will never me a sequel", meaning that you only have one shot at life, and there are no second chances. The lyrics actually mean something. Or Till I Collapse by Eminem "Cause sometimes you just feel tired, Feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength, And just pull that sh** out of you and get that motivation to not give up, And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse." This song says that you just have to keep pushing, even when you feel like there is way you'll finish. Believe that you can accomplish, and you can. This, does not mean I hate songs like Wiggle or Trumpets by Jason Derulo, Drunk In Love by Beyoncé, or Fetty Waps' Trap Queen, or anything like that. I just think about the music behind it also, does the singer have a good voice, or is it just auto tune, and when I buy tickets to their concert, do I later regret it?? Is it a song you can turn up to? The songs that are funny to belt out with your friends, and the ones that everyone screams to, when you know all the lyrics! Those, I like. Or the ones you sing along with. Those I can actually enjoy! Even when the lyrics are dumb, everyone still knows what's up! People still sing Call Me Maybe to this day! No matter how dumb the song, or funny the parodies. No matter how annoying some songs can be, they still get stuck in my head!!
